UPDATED 1/22/23
Hello and Welcome to my website.
My name is Joe O'Neill in Trinidad, Colorado and I have been interested in knives for as long as I can remember. I have been tinkering with making knives since about 1992. I started out modifying knives that I had, and then moved on to making them. I have learned a lot from local and not so local knife makers like Gary Wingo, Mike Henry, Ted Taylor, Todd Davison, and Harvy King. All of these people are very willing to share their knowledge to anyone that ask.
I use the stock removal method, which means I get a flat piece of steel and grind away everything that does not look like a knife. For the steel I use stainless steel and do my own heat treating. Handle material is usually micarta or stabilized wood or bone.
All of my knives have a cross on them somewhere. This is my way of giving thanks to a loving God that allows me to do something that I enjoy.
I have added a page called "Current Projects". I will post pictures of things that I am working on. These pictures will be in various stages of completion as I work on a project. Check back often. Once I get knives done ,I will put the pics on the proper page.
